OUR CELEBRITY AUCTIONEER: JOHN KUNKLE from “Container Wars”

John Kunkle is an old hand Auctioneer, calling bids since graduating from the Missouri Auction School in 1979. A local celebrity in his hometown of Long Beach, California where he started his passion of raising funds with a group of friends that were reaching out to victims of domestic violence. In the years that followed, John kept his skill sharpened with voice over and radio commercial opportunities, calling antique auctions, classic car auctions, municipal auctions, performing as master of ceremonies for beauty pageants, grand openings, announcing car racing events and parades and most recently, selected as auctioneer on the new hit series, “Container Wars” Sunday nights on the TruTV network.

Jake moved back to his hometown of Nashville in 2010 after completing a 2 year run on Broadway in the multiple Tony Award winning musical Jersey Boys. Most recently Jake made his Studio Tenn debut as Juror #8 in Twelve Angry Men and has continued shooting his recurring role as Steve on the ABC series Nashville.

Our own Board Member, John Schuck, is going to Broadway! John Schuck has been hired to co-star in “Nice Work If You Can Get It” with Matthew Broderick. He will be replaced as the evenings host by Broadway Actor, Jake Speck and Founder of Franklin’s Studio Tenn.

John has been an actor for over fifty years!! He is best known as Sgt. Enright from MCMILLIAN AND WIFE, with Rock Hudson. Broadway knows him as Daddy Warbucks in ANNIE and Buffalo Bill in ANNIE GET YOUR GUN with Reba McEntire. He appeared with Reba again in the Carnegie Hall production of South Pacific. Most recently John starred as Captain Boyle in JUNO at City Center Encores. In London he costarred with Charlton Heston in THE CAINE MUTINY. Movies range from Painless in M*A*S*H to Woody Allen’s THE CURSE OF THE JADE SCORPION. Recent TV appearances include ZEKE&LUTHER, LAW & ORDER SVU, NYPD BLUE and LAW & ORDER. John is married to the well known artist Harrison Houle.They live in Franklin and are enjoying their new lives in this very special town!

The Hams have an eclectic mix of Country, Blue Grass and a little bit of soul. This is a multi-talented father and sons act with banjo, fiddle, mandolin, bass, guitars and wonderful family harmonies. They also write most of their own music.
